We’ve all done it: caught in the flow, we bang out an awesome blog post and in our excitement, immediately release it to the world… Only to find it languish and get very little attention from the community. Confronted with this dilemma, Jake Luciani, the author of a popular ThruDB project, decided to put the new AideRSS API’s to good use and did a quick study on roughly 10,000 latest posts from del.icio.us, digg, reddit, and mixx:

Time matters, which is not surprising, but did you know what the optimal post times are? Note that the times above are in the GMT timezone - don’t forget to convert it to your local time.

Day of the week? Not surprisingly, Tuesday to Thursday are the best days to publish your content - a pattern many publishers are certainly familiar with, based on the fluctuating number of subscribers to their RSS feeds.
For more information on Jake’s findings, see his blog post, and to get started with the AideRSS API, take a look at our API Documentation.
