Beta testers wanted

The next version of our aiderss.com site is coming together nicely, and soon we’re going to need folks other than us to take it for a test drive. So we’re looking for beta testers!

We don’t have stringent qualifying criteria; in fact, the broader the tester demographics, the better — RSS wizards, web apps newbies, super-fans, staunch detractors — ideally they’d all be represented. The more user needs and use cases we hear about, the better we can make our site and our technology work for our community.

All testers are welcome to a snazzy AideRSS t-shirt, a note from me, and, of course, our eternal gratitude. If you’re interested in being a beta tester for us, feel free to leave a comment here, email me, or ping me on the Twitter @aiderss account.

Once I get the go-ahead from the developers, I’ll be sending out the beta invitation information.

Thanks!

Red Herring Top 50 finalistAt the Red Herring conference last week, the Top 50 Awards were presented, and AideRSS was chosen as a winner!Carol, our CEO, was on hand to receive the award and to present about AideRSS.

Our congratulations go out to our fellow Tech Capital portfolio companies Overlay.TV and Sindense, as well, for their wins.

Recent adventures of the AideRSS team

Some photos from the Third Tuesday event in Toronto.

Some photos from the 2008 Tech Capital Foosball Tournament.

As a side note, we won the prestigious Hardest Working Company designation… because we lost early, lost often, and then were forced to spend the rest of the evening sipping beers, nibbling nachos, and playing pool.  It was rough.

Oh well, when our toil and dedication results in us getting bought by Google, and we’re cruising through the Timmy’s drive thrus of the K-dub in our gold-plated Aston Martins, we’ll see how shiny that Foosball Champion trophy looks… ;)

Ilya to present at RubyConf08

November 6-8 in Orlando, FL, Ruby aficionados will gather for the Eighth International Ruby Conference (RubyConf08 to its friends).

Ilya will be presenting the snazzily named Ruby Heavy-Lifting: Lazy load it, Event it, Defer it, and then Optimize it.

And don’t forget, Ilya’s an award-winning Ruby dude, so it’s bound to be good! :)

amazom.com logoAs part of the AWS Start-up Tour, entrepreneurs, VCs, and others will gather in Toronto for the AWS event on September 15th.

Ilya and Jim will be there presenting on how AideRSS has put AWS to work for us. Also, local start-ups  iloverewards, Zoomii, and Polarmobile will be there as well.

Seating is limited, so you’ll need to pre-register. Come on out for what promises to be a fantastic and informative event!
